I first became interested in photography about five years ago, when I was in middle school and was invited to take a workshop in which we would study basic elements of composition and use disposable cameras to get a feel for taking pictures. Our work was featured in the Levine Museum of the New South, and through the experience I gained an appreciation for the thought that goes into creating a piece.

In the years since, I have moved from casual photographer to student to avid amateur to semi-professional. As Editor-in-Chief for two years of my high school yearbook I have studied elements of design and composition that have helped me broaden my knowledge and artistic vision. I take every opportunity to whip out my camera and capture the beauty of the world around me. I love sports photography because of how fast paced and ever-changing it is, but portraiture is also near and dear to my heart, as well. I love the challenge of speaking to a person and finding what makes them tick, and then attempting to capture that through just a few photographs.
